Tia Hansen spent her summer working with Yahoo! focusing on a variety of projects related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainability for datacenters and office operations.
Solutions
As an EDF Climate Corps fellow, she began by completing a greenhouse gas inventory for 2013 and updating Yahoo’s Carbon Disclosure Response, aiming to improve upon 2012’s impressive score of 91. Hansen developed a suite of energy efficiency measures including HVAC, lighting and controls and proposed a revolving funding mechanism to support implementation. Additionally, she worked on strategies and financial modeling for onsite generation.
