How Climate Corps Works
Climate Corps fellows are the next generation of business and sustainability leaders. Hosting a Fellow is a low-cost and low-risk way to advance your sustainability goals. Whether you are a private, non-profit, or public organization, Climate Corps will pair you with an enthusiastic graduate student who has the right experience, training, and ambition to align with your needs. Your fellow will work on site or remotely for 10-12 weeks to provide hands-on help to advance complex climate projects at your organization.
Program Timeline
- February 1, 2023: Host application deadline
- March to April: You get custom matched with a fellow best suited for your project
- May 22 - 26: Fellows attend a week-long Training to build skills and knowledge for their fellowships
- June to August: Summer fellowships take place for 10-12 weeks, on site or remote.
- September: Fellows, alumni and hosts attend the annual Climate Corps Summit

Host Requirements
- Hire fellows directly at a salary of at least $1,400 per week for 10-12 weeks, plus $1,400 for participation in the Fellow Training. For a 10 week project, the total cost is at least $15,400. There is no fee or cost to EDF. For select projects in public or non-profit sectors, limited funding support may be available from EDF.
- Provide a supportive high-level project sponsor, as well as an accessible direct supervisor for the duration of the fellowship. The direct supervisor should have the capacity to meet with the fellow on a weekly basis at minimum.
- Provide EDF with periodic updates on project progress upon request after fellowship completion.
