EDF Climate Corps is an innovative summer fellowship program places talented MBA students from top-ranking business schools in leading companies to develop practical, actionable energy efficiency plans.

Working within a facilities management or corporate sustainability department, each fellow develops a customized energy plan designed to meet the host company’s needs.

Fellows work across company departments to:

  • Take an inventory of the host company’s energy use through review and analysis of professional energy audits, interviews with key employees and direct observation
  • Model the financial impact of upgrades to lighting, office equipment and heating and cooling systems, factoring in available rebates and incentives
  • Facilitate collaboration among multiple energy efficiency stakeholders
  • Map out a strategy for energy efficiency investments and present the business case to management

If you are interested in hosting a 2011 Climate Corps fellow, please contact Rachel Hinchliffe.

Profiles & Testimonials

Koji Kitazume

2010 Climate Corps fellow (McDonald's); Duke University, Fuqua School of Business and Nicholas School of the Environment

"McDonald's has more than 32,000 restaurants worldwide. I can have a significant impact by identifying even a small savings potential if it can be applied across those restaurants. The magnitude of that scale is fascinating."
