Summary
Ben Ritter worked with Charter Communications, Inc. to develop a long-term employee engagement strategy to help meet its goal to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2035.
Goals
Charter Communications, Inc. a leading broadband connectivity company and cable operator, enlisted Ben Ritter to develop recommendations for an organizational structure and scalable employee engagement strategies and pathways towards a Carbon Neutral 2035. Ben also analyzed and quantified specific emissions reduction opportunities within Spectrum Mobile.
Solutions
Leveraging the results of peer benchmarking, a landscape analysis of best practices, and emissions mapping at the business division level, Ben developed a phased roadmap to effectively engage employees and business divisions to identify, execute, and track targeted emissions reductions across the business. The proposed approach included:
-
A segmented action plan to implement targeted best practices for employee awareness and activation towards a Carbon Neutral 2035;
-
New internal structures to streamline cross-functional engagement and execute emissions reductions opportunities;
-
A roles-based approach to focus within high-impact divisions and roles to drive emissions reductions.
Potential Impact
Charter’s pathway to carbon neutrality by 2035 will require the awareness and support of its over 90,000 employees, particularly those within its operational business divisions and roles. Implementing a focused, best-in-class engagement program will accelerate company-wide efforts to coordinate and execute emissions reductions projects in line with its long-term commitment.
