Summary
Pablo Salazar Armella developed a set of useful dashboards that will help ELS's sustainability team keep track and optimize the performance of their ongoing ESG programs.
Goals
ELS owns and operates a portfolio of over 450 properties comprised of recreational vehicle (RV) campgrounds, manufactured home (MH) communities and marinas across the US and Canada. Given the extension and diversity of the company's portfolio, assessing the multiple data inputs from their ESG programs and translating them into actionable items proves to be a cumbersome task. Seeking to ease and optimize this process, ELS enlisted Pablo to develop a set of tools for data visualization and analysis.
Solutions
Pablo started by analyzing available data, seeking to gain an understanding of the key metrics and actionable items that could be taken away from the dashboards. This process was enriched by active feedback from the sustainability team. Upon completing the bulk of the analysis, Pablo's attention focused on how to make the dashboards clear, dynamic and easy to maintain. This way, the ELS's sustainability team can keep using and building into the developed tools in the future.
Potential Impact
Pablo's dashboards provide an easy and fast way to analyze the key metric of the Smart Water Meter and Solar programs, compiling multiple data sets into a clean and dynamic interface. The information procured from these tools will help ELS, among other things, identify major water leaks and underperformance of arrays, prompting a quick response that translates into water and monetary savings for the company.
