Ben Reizenstein developed a suite of reporting tools to analyze and communicate the energy and environmental performance of JPMorgan Chase’s real estate portfolio. These tools support the company's sustainability goals by comparing building performance and tracking trends in electricity costs, electricity use and associated carbon dioxide emissions.
Employing an iterative design process with multiple prototype stages and users, Reizenstein constructed the suite to convert electricity billing data from over 5,000 sites into information relevant to a range of managers, from building managers to senior executives. With static reports supported by interactive dashboards, the suite enables new kinds of analysis and targeting; it also helps to circulate energy and environmental indicators that are integrated and consistent.
Reizenstein’s work also supports JPMorgan's ability to measure and monitor its own energy and carbon footprint, which will be instrumental in setting and tracking progress towards the company’s next round of energy cost- and carbon-reduction goals.
