During this internship, Yufeng was primarily responsible for analyzing data related to framework and carbon emissions. This involved categorizing data based on the grading standards in the Framework tables and calculating the carbon emissions before and after product packaging reduction. Through these analyses, we were able to assess the effectiveness of different packaging solutions in reducing carbon footprints.
Goals
During the fellowship, the primary goals were to analyze the impact of various packaging materials on carbon emissions, evaluate the effectiveness of packaging reductions, and enhance the use of recyclable materials to support the company's sustainability goals.
Solutions
To achieve these objectives, data was collected and categorized according to framework grading standards, and carbon emissions were calculated before and after implementing packaging reduction strategies. Additionally, a thorough lifecycle analysis (LCA) was conducted on different products, such as plastic, copper, aluminum, cotton, and polyester, to assess their environmental impacts at various stages.
Potential Impact
The results of this analysis led to a decrease in overall carbon emissions, promoted circular economy principles, and provided strategic insights for the company's future sustainability actions. Overall, this work not only supported the company's sustainability approach but also demonstrated the effectiveness of data-driven strategies in reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable practices.
