Summary
The diligent efforts of Nianxin Mao were dedicated to enhancing Lenovo's value chain emission reduction engagement with the ultimate goal of mitigating scope 3 emissions.
Goals
The aim of this project is to reduce Lenovo's value chain emissions. This involves assessing the potential for emission reduction of suppliers, obtaining the willingness of suppliers to launch emission reduction initiatives, identifying any issues that may hinder supply chain emission reduction, and creating a plan for further communication with top suppliers.
Solutions
The project focuses on the following solutions:

Based on the CDP questionnaire, Nianxin built up a supplier emission reaction database to help Lenovo sort out its complex basic supplier information, and design indicator called "Supplier Emission Reduction Maturity" that categorizes suppliers into various ranks based on their emission mitigation behavior;

For pushing those suppliers to get involved in emission-mitigating action, Nianxin designed a questionnaire to gather the potential of suppliers for further action introduction;

Nianxin gathered scope 3 information on Lenovo’s top 15 suppliers to help Lenovo further scope 3 calculation;

To summarize all the solutions, Nianxin designed contact PPTs for the top 15 suppliers, encompassing all aforementioned solutions. This will effectively encourage these suppliers to actively participate in Lenovo's emission mitigation action.
Potential Impact
The promotion of GHG mitigation in Lenovo's value chain continues, and Nianxin's work is a typical task in the pursuit of increased engagement throughout the value chain. It is anticipated that this project will facilitate a smooth initiation of emission reduction actions among Lenovo's suppliers, enhance understanding of their potential, and provide valuable insights into effective strategies for emissions reduction.
