Goals

SKF China, a leading MNC in bearing technology, is increasingly recognizing the importance of a localized ESG strategy that aligns with its operations within the Chinese market. To address this need, Fangzhuo Zhou was engaged to analyze the latest ESG policies in China and Europe, conduct a SWOT analysis of SKF China's ESG development, and propose a strategic framework that integrates ESG principles into the company's business model.

Solutions

Fangzhuo conducted a comprehensive three-phase approach to enhance SKF China's ESG development. First, she analyzed six major ESG policies from China and Europe, producing a 66-page Summary Report and a Reference Guideline to streamline policy interpretation. Next, she conducted over 30 interviews, organized an ESG workshop, and identified materiality topics crucial to SKF China's ESG strategy, culminating in a detailed SWOT analysis. Finally, Fangzhuo created a strategic ESG framework, integrating sustainability across SKF China's operations and providing a phased action plan to ensure compliance, resilience, and competitive advantage.
