Summary

The project of EPD analysis and comparison conducted an extensive analysis of the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) of LONGi and other competing companies, identifying key areas for environmental improvement, constructing EPD comparing methods, and so on.
The project of water risk analysis conducted the water stress data analysis using the WRI tool, identifying the plants in high-risk zones and high-risk provinces.

Goals

The goal was to analyze and compare the environmental performance of LONGi's photovoltaic modules against other companies, identify the primary contributors to environmental pollution, and determine areas for improvement, particularly in upstream processes.
Water risk analysis aimed to evaluate the water stress of LONGi's plants in different scenarios for water management advice.

Solutions

LONGi can focus on reducing environmental pollution by improving the green supply chain and developing N-type photovoltaic modules, which are more environmentally friendly than P-type modules.
For water risk, LONGi can maintain ongoing focus, data updates, data disclosures as well as the establishment of water management for factories in high-risk areas.

Potential Impact

Recognizing that the upstream stage, particularly material procurement, is the primary source of environmental pollution for LONGi, the findings have led to strategic directions like enhancing the green supply chain and focusing on N-type modules to further reduce the environmental impact.
The water risk analysis highlighted areas of high water stress risk, guiding future efforts in water resource management.
