Summary

Zimeng Zhao worked on circular economy summary and visualization in Schneider Electric (SE) and has updated a Circularity Playbook to help the company achieve circularity.

Goals

Schneider Electric regards sustainability as a critical mission. Circularity is an effective method to achieve sustainability and also supports different items of SE 2025 targets. To promote and implement circularity, SE has many projects of Circular Economy including Circularity Playbook. This Playbook works as a guideline and aims to let the users know more about the circular economy and also provide new ideas and thoughts through real Best Practices.

Solutions

Zimeng used a more intuitive way (a web page on Microsoft SharePoint) to show the information in the Circularity playbook and add more functions to the new Playbook. The Playbook integrated the basic information of Circularity and the Best Practices from different regions of Schneider plants. Also, it used instructions and an AI chat box to give guidance to the users. Also, we publish a list on the first page for the users to submit their Best Practices of circularity.
She also arranged and attended internal meetings and webinars to learn about the sustainability and circular innovations in the company.

Potential Impact

Zimeng envisions transforming the existing Circularity Playbook into an accessible and dynamic webpage, aiming to create a streamlined, unified resource for SE. This digital playbook will serve as a comprehensive guide, detailing the essentials of circularity, the 5R Towards Zero Waste Approach, and a wealth of best practices that exemplify SE's meticulous steps towards a circular business model. The goal is to ensure that the playbook is not only user-friendly and straightforward but also a standardized reference that is readily applicable to SE sites and suppliers alike.
