  • Transparency in the Supply Chain: Sharing Information Helps Share Savings

EDF Climate Corps fellow | August 7, 2014

As an increasing number of companies seek to reduce the environmental impact of getting their products to retailers and consumers, understanding the drivers behind current transportation and logistic decisions is crucial. • Greening the Cleanroom at PerkinElmer

EDF Climate Corps fellow | August 5, 2014

Energy efficiency is an essential part of climate change mitigation, which is my primary motivation for becoming an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow. My goal is to find energy and water savings at my host organization PerkinElmer in Santa Clara, California.

  • Energy Planning for a Municipality: The Policy Impact

EDF Climate Corps fellow | July 31, 2014

Two weeks ago I walked into a secured building with simple décor and mismatched furniture. The hallways smelled faintly of disinfectant. But, it is the floors that captured visitors’ attention. It was the cleanest and shiniest floor I have ever seen in my life.

  • Green-Collar Skills

    Kelly Jones | July 24, 2014

The range of skills needed to work in the interdisciplinary field of sustainability run the gamut from energy modeling to negotiation and from financial analysis to communications. I myself have degrees in both psychology and environmental management, and I work with a team with individuals who have studied economics, international affairs, anthropology, history and integrative biology. Each of us brings something unique to the table, and as a whole, the group benefits from having such diverse expertise.

EDF Climate Corps fellow | July 22, 2014
