Data Analysis, Sustainability and Energy Management Strategy
Hisham Beydoun provided Grocery Outlet with an important reporting tool to inform better management decisions that will ultimately lead to more sustainable practices in operations.
Grocery Outlet, a national discount supermarket, enlisted EDF Climate Corps fellow Hisham Beydoun to develop standardized reporting for internal and external stakeholders with a goal of improved tracking of operational refrigeration and energy performance that can inform important managerial decisions.
After synthesizing data from both third parties and internal stakeholders, Beydoun created a dashboard that can provide monthly internal reporting to management. The dashboard will provide drilldown on store performance and can be used to access regional trends amongst operators. He focused on making sure the process of updating the dashboard was automatable and repeatable in order to ensure the continued use.
The creation of the dashboard will help set Grocery Outlet on a path towards data-driven decisions, and further their goals of more sustainable operations.
