Clean and Renewable Energy, Data Analysis
Victoria helped create tools and frameworks to assist Live Nation in evaluating the renewable energy procurement options available for their venue portfolio.
As a part of their Green Nation initiative, Live Nation Entertainment has committed to reducing their Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50% by 2030. Live Nation Entertainment enlisted a Climate Corps Fellow, Victoria Jenkins, to assist in understanding the renewable energy landscape as they enter the next phase of their sustainability journey.
Victoria supported Live Nation’s sustainability team by creating the following:
- A comprehensive database of state, federal, and industry renewable energy incentives and programs for states in which Live Nation owns and operates venues
- A framework of evaluative criteria for Corporate and Venue General Managers to use to evaluate renewable energy procurement solutions, along with a prioritization strategy of which venues Live Nation should target first
- Educational and engagement tools for the Global Sustainability team to distribute to General Managers about renewable energy procurement options
- A financial modeling tool to evaluate onsite solar solutions at venues
By having a comprehensive database of available renewable energy procurement options, a venue prioritization strategy, along with tools and engagement material to secure buy-in from stakeholders, the recommendations help Live Nation position itself for gradual and/or dramatic change in renewable energy procurement across its venue portfolio.
The resulting potential impacts include measurable decreases in their Scope 2 carbon footprint, savings on utility spend, and positive influence across the entertainment industry with stakeholders such as local communities, fans and artists.
